Hi, you guys? Whta's up? Miss me? Of course you did! LOL.
Today I'm going to talk about some life changing news and then just put my opinion on two events happening in entertainment.
First, today it has been announced that Democrats have approved a health care reform bill that will cost just below 900 billion dollars. (I can't imagine that amount but I know alot of ridiculously rich celebs who could! lol.) It is reported that the bill will require 96% of Americans to be covered by 2013. That's less than 4 years away! It features legislature that allows most Americans to be insured through private companies or a government program which means that health insurance companies will be competing with the government for rates and customers. Hmmmm. I wonder who'll win? Moreover, the bulk of it will be paid for by Americans making $500,000 or more, pharmaceutical companies and medical supply companies.
Now, is it me or does this plan sound too good to be true? People could say what they want but this is a good deal. I would guess that the only people who are bothered by this are (maybe) people making $500,000 or more a year, people who are afraid that we are becoming a socialist country (even though other government ran programs have not made this happen and are helping alot of people who really need it in the meantime) and Republicans who can care less if it really helps people and just don't like Obama or his minions as long as they have the best health care other people's money could buy!
There are some critics who have said that the bill will increase taxes, cut jobs, limit choice and so on and so on. Prove it! And maybe these critics are right but for now at least there are people somewhere who realize that healthcare is a major issue in America and while we were the richest, most innovative and influential country in the world for a very long time, many Americans were dying from every kind of disease imaginable because they couldn't afford to go to the doctors. What exactly had we and the world measured our success by? It took a staggering economy and vital statistics of unhealthiness to bring us to our senses. Shall we learn some common sense now, people?
Okay. I've vented a little so let's move on. I have to say that People Magazine is the magazine to go to when you want to see and hear the first of any celebrity. They recently featured pics of Brad's and Angelina's twins....Cough! They'll look better as they get older. Just like Shiloh. Anyway, did yall see the recent photos of the Maddens? Joel Madden and Nicole Richie have married. Isn't that wonderful? I think marriage is nice. I might try it one day. But did yall see their babies? My Lord aren't they beautiful!!!! I had to look twice because they were so cute! Congratulations on your love and family Joel and Nicole Richie!
In less happy entertainement news: Here we go again with Nene and Kim from The Real Housewives of Atlanta! Although I don't approve of people calling the show ghetto (what does that mean anyway?) I can truly agree that these are some of the most dramatic drama queens I've ever witnessed in my life. It's always something. Now, Kim is accusing Nene of strangling her. What? Exactly how does a person get their hands around your neck and enough time to choke you before you do anything? I know most people have trash to talk about Nene but Kim is just plain annoying to me. I like Nene for her realness. I like Kandi because she's sweet and Lisa because she's different but Kim is just plain annoying. Always crying. Letting people pull her hair, threaten to flip her over a couch and strangle her. Get a grip!
Of course, I, like everyone else, could just be feeding into the propaganda of a reality show. Who knows? The girls probably get along perfectly fine in real life. But their images are what we see so......
Well, that's what's on my mind. Tell me what you think! Until next time....

Also the actor who won the academy award over George Clooney for Michael Clayton was Daniel Day-Lewis for There Will Be Blood. I forgot his name out of forgetfulness not disrespect although I still think George deserved it!
And if you don't know what I am talking about...Go read my past posts!
Now for my list. Remember I based it on who I think is beautiful in my eyes. There was no bias on race or body weight or popularity.

Movie reviews
Hi, everyone! hope you guys are enjoying your week! So, for today's post I want to review two movies, one new and one old. I will be doing this often. I know you're probably wondering what happened to My List of Shallowness II, the female version of my male list. Next post, I promise:)
But today I'm going to give short personal reviews on two movies: New :Fame (2009) Old: Michael Clayton (2008)
I went to see the new installment of Fame on Monday. The movie is based on the original movie that came out over a decade ago and the critically acclaimed television series that followed and is about a group of teens who attend a top performing arts high school in New York City.
I give the movie a grade of C-. While the music and talent was awesome there was no real plot to the story. Things happened to the kids here and there, there were great musical performances and it ended. There was no real ultimate story that brought all the events together and the characters were not fully developed at all. You found out bits and pieces about them but you never really get to understand why those bits and pieces effected them the way they did. Too short and too mainstream. But the music and talent of the actors were excellent!
Now, as you may know I love George Clooney! He's a darne good actor! And I fell in love with his movie Michael Clayton when I first seen it on Cable television. So, when I saw that it was on sale for $5.00 at Target I had to buy it! Lucky me! Since then (last Saturday) I've watched it like 5 times already. Superb movie! It follows the life of Michael Clayton, a "janitor" for a top NY law firm. It's his job to make the conspiracies of the firm and its individual members go away. He's great at it, but years of cleaning others' dirty and sometimes horrific laundry has taken its toll on Mr. Clayton. It's a gritty drama and a must see. I was very upset when the There Will Be Blood lead actor (sorry can't think of his name right now even though I respect that he's a well known actor) won the Oscar over George. I don't know about anyone else, but to me There Will Be Blood was a terrible movie. I watched it and I still don't know what it was about. It didn't seem to follow a basic story line except the character drilled oil and became rich from it, of course, and went crazy in the process. Only I can't pinpoint exactly when he went crazy and the point of the movie. And it won best leading actor. Hmmmm. But then Notes On a Scandal was thought to be Oscar worthy so I rented it to find out it's about a woman who sleeps with a 15 year old boy. How moving. Yeah. I don't care for the Oscars and don't know why that show or its award is so respected when horrible movies are often praised and actors are insulted when they win awards for horrible performances when they had performed masterfully in other movies that weren't even recognized. (i.e Denzel; Training Day wasn't that good at all)
But, I digress. I give Fame a C- and Michael Clayton an A+. I recommend that you see Fame if you like to watch musical performances but not for the actual story. Rent Michael Clayton if you like gritty dramas and poignant storylines.
Til next time,
Lew

My List of Shallowness (Final List)
Ok. So as I stated in my first blog, I made a list of the 25 hottest celebrity men and called it my list of shallowness. I created it by simply listing 25 gorgeous famous men and numbering them from gorgeous(1) to a lil less gorgeous (25). The female list wasn't as easy but I thought of a clever way to come to a final list with the girls. I'll tell you all about it in my next blog. For now, here is my first list. Keep in mind that my list was derived at simply by opinion of attractiveness. I'm not racist or cared about levels of popularity and I was only thinking of what I think. There was no professional survey or any deepness to the list. Just really hot guys! lol.
